An original Charles Schulz sketch and production cel from the Bill Melendez Studios animated “Peanuts” series (c.1980s). Featuring Charlie Brown looking rather dejected while wearing his baseball cap, the hand-painted cel was created at the studio and used during the animation process. The piece is an actual frame of animation that was photographed and appears in a cartoon. The drawing is a small sketch of Charlie that is hand-drawn and signed by the creator of “Peanuts,” Charles Schulz. Measuring 18.5”x18” matted, with the mat openings measuring 8.5”x11.25” for the cel and 2.75”x4.5” for the sketch. The character image measures 4”x3” on the cel and 2”x3.25” on the sketch. The piece is in very good condition unexamined out of the mat and the cel is paired with a printed reproduction background.
