This is an original hand-painted background overlay design painting from the Walt Disney Studios animated feature film, The Little Mermaid. This cel overlay features the shipwreck Prince Eric boards and steers to kill Ursula, and was created at the studio and used in the making of the animated feature. It is an early version of the overlay painting, and it differs in small details from the overlay painting seen in the film. The cel measures 12.5" x 17" overall with the image measuring 9" x 16.25". The cel is in very good condition with minimal paint wear.
