A production cel and background setup from the Walt Disney Studios animated film "The Fox and the Hound" (1981). Featuring young Tod and Copper as they’re playing together, the hand-painted cel was created at the studio and used during the animation process. The cel is paired with a hand-painted background of the interior of Abigail’s barn. The cel and background layers do not match but were all photographed and appear in the film. Measuring 18.25”x22” framed with mat opening measuring 10.75”x14.5”, and the character image measuring 5.25”x10”, the production cel and background setup is in very good condition, and is unexamined out of its frame. The cel appears to have been laminated by the studio for distribution and exhibits slight line fade, paint loss along Copper’s tail, and minor wear to frame itself.
