This is an original preliminary background from the Walt Disney Studios classic feature film, 101 Dalmatians. The hand-painted background was created and used during the production of the film. This background is comprised of a hand-painted image on illustration board with the line work created on a xerox cel overlay. 101 Dalmatians was the first Disney feature film to use xerography for the line work on cels and the film's style reflected the exagerated use of the new process. This lovely background was created by Disney animator, Walt Peregoy. The illustration board measures 12.5" x 20" overall with the image area measuring 11" x 16.5"
