A matching production cel and background from the Marvel Studios animated series "X-Men" (1992-1997). Featuring Gladiator flying up to fight against the Phoenix, the hand-painted cel and background were created at the studio and used during the animation process. The matching setup is an actual frame of animation that was photographed and is seen at about 19:31 in the season three episode "The Phoenix Saga Part III: The Cry of the Banshee." Measuring 10.5”x14" overall, with the painted image area measuring 9.5”x13.5", the setup is in very good condition with minor surface and edge wear, slight line wear, and backing paper stuck to the reverse of the cel paint from studio use and storage.
