An American Tale Color Key Painting - ID: at01

An original background color key concept from the Don Bluth Productions animated film An American Tail (1986). The hand-painted concept features a bugs and a horrifying fish creature from the New York City sewers, and was created at the studio during the film's development process. Don Bluth Productions uniquely used these concepts not only to develop the scene's color palette, style, and emotion, but also as storyboards to visualize the full story development. Measuring 8.5"x12.5" overall, and with the image area measuring 8"x12", the background color key concept is in very good condition with minor wear from studio use, and includes the overlay cel which contains some details and the bugs.
