A set of 14 unglazed figurines inspired by the Disney Studios animated classic “Lady and the Tramp” (1955). Featuring two figurines of Lady, Tramp, Peg, Jock, Bull, Daschie, four puppies, and the Siamese cats, Si and Am, each with painted faces. The figurines were manufactured by Evan K. Shaw and released shortly after the film’s theatrical release. Through the 1940s and 1950s, the Evan K. Shaw Pottery Company and its sister companies, Metlox and American Pottery, produced a wide range of ceramics. In 1943, they were approved as a licensee to produce a range of Disney characters. These companies are no longer in business, making these ceramics difficult to come by. The smallest figurine measures 1.25”x0.75”x0.5” and the largest measures 1.25”x2”x2.75”. Each figurine is in fine condition with very light age-related discoloration.
