X-MEN: THE ANIMATED SERIES

This series premiered in 1992. Although it was expected to have a very short life as other Marvel Animation series had expreienced at that time, X-Men: The Animated Series lasted for five seasons, ending in 1997.  This length of air time has distinguished the series as the longest running Marvel animation series to date.
